She is a European, he is a university student – starting with a vowel but no vowel sound, instead 'you' sound – It is also important to know – He is an MP when using the abbreviation for Minister of Parliament, and other abbreviations with the vowel sounds. Many teachers don't teach this proper usage.

4:38 if she is right, then I learned something very new. I've seen her make some mistakes in her other video's though so I can't take her word for it.

A quick search suggest she is. For now I've done enough in one day to follow that rabbit hole.

Why do we say, " the dog I have is an old dog?" Why not " the dog I have is the old dog?" I know we say "the dog" because we identify him in the adjective phrase. But, in the second one, why is it "an old dog?" Thank you.
