    it's not true that a is used only with singular countable nouns .. I can give examples

    Between drink and a longer life, novelist Kingsley Amis was under no illusions about which he would choose
    a longer life .. Life is not countable ..
    More ? Here it is
    he points out that we shouldn’t be tempted to think that a virtue can offset a vice

    Can you count life ? how ? It's an abstract noun.

    around 2:42, it is saying that "Badges identifies a members of organizaitons." Is that correct? Is the "a" needed in "a members of"?
